Citrix Systems to acquire NetScaler - $300M cash and stock
"Citrix Systems to acquire privately held NetScaler (CTXS) 25.37 :Co signs definitive agreement to acquire privately held NetScaler, a high-performance application networking company. The transaction is valued at $300 mln in cash and stock, plus the assumption of $23 mln in unvested stock options. NetScaler has approx 200 employees, with R&D teams in Silicon Valley and India. The co pioneered the market for next-generation application networking acceleration. The co estimates that up to 75% of all Internet users go through a NetScaler system each day"

Netscaler, founded in 1997, raised a total of about $80M from Focus, Sequoia, Gdolman, Granite Global, Bay, and others. Focus led the last round of financing - $20M raise - in March 2004. Citrix stock is currently trading down around 6%.
